The exterior is richly decorated in deep underglaze cobalt blue, with three circular reserves individually depicting pine trees, bamboo groves, and blossoming plum branches — symbolizing moral strength, resilience, and renewal in times of hardship. These scenes are surrounded by intricate arabesque scrolls rendered in brilliant blue, creating a vibrant and textured surface.

The rim is gently everted, while the foot ring is neatly finished, showing traces of kiln grit, typical of Arita production from this period.
