DESCRIPTION
Fine Japanese porcelain saucer decorated in underglaze cobalt blue.The interior features three shaped cartouches containing landscape, floral, and figure scenes.The decoration is delicately painted with soft blue tones and refined detail.The underside bears a hand painted underglaze blue mark within double circles.An elegant Arita ware example from the Meiji period.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Arita porcelain became highly regarded for its fine white body and detailed blue and white decoration.Small saucers of this type were often produced for domestic use and export markets during the Meiji era.Collectors appreciate the balance of minimal white space with finely painted cartouche motifs.
