🌟 Product Details
πŸ†” Inventory Code INV2067 Ⓜ️ Material Wood 🏳️ Origin Chinese πŸ›οΈ Period Qing Dynasty (Late 19th – Early 20th Century) Β πŸ…‚ Subject Carving Stand 🏷️ Marked Unmarked πŸ“œ Description
A finely carved antique Chinese wooden stand, dating to the late Qing dynasty (circa 1880–1930). This diminutive piece features a traditional pierced scrollwork apron with four integral legs, supporting a recessed platform for a scholar’s object, snuff bottle, or small porcelain item.

The wood exhibits a deep reddish-brown tone with a naturally aged patina, slightly dry to the touch, with areas of surface polish worn from use and time. The base is recessed and fully hand-carved, with traces of old lacquer or pigment in the crevices. The underside confirms old chisel marks and toolwork consistent with late 19th-century Chinese carving.

Collector’s Notes: Late Qing wooden stands like this were often carved from a variety of native hardwoods, not necessarily precious rosewood. While not hongmu, this piece offers an authentic, traditional appearance ideal for contextual display.
