DESCRIPTION

Antique Chinese export porcelain plate decorated in cobalt underglaze blue. The center features an architectural river landscape with pagodas, trees, and distant buildings in the traditional Chinese taste. The wide border displays alternating floral and geometric motifs. The reverse shows numerous early metal staple repairs, a historic restoration method commonly seen on 18th century porcelain. A decorative and authentic Qing period example.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese export porcelain from the Qianlong era was widely produced for both domestic and European markets during the 18th century. Blue and white landscape wares remain highly collectible for their detailed hand painted scenes and historical craftsmanship. Staple repairs are often valued today as evidence of early preservation and continued use.
