CONDITION

DESCRIPTION

Delicate Chinese export porcelain saucer decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The central scene depicts two elegant female figures with a young attendant in a garden landscape beside a flowering tree and rockwork. The rim is finished with a finely painted geometric diaper border. The porcelain has a refined shallow form typical of Qianlong export wares of the 18th century.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Blue and white export porcelain from the Qianlong period remains highly collectible for its finely painted narrative scenes and elegant forms. Figure subjects featuring ladies and children were especially popular in both domestic Chinese and export markets during the Qing dynasty.
