DESCRIPTION

Chinese export porcelain dish decorated in rich underglaze cobalt blue on a pale celadon-tinted ground.

The central panel features flowering peonies, prunus blossoms, ornamental rocks, and symbolic garden motifs.

The border is richly decorated with floral sprays and geometric diaper-pattern reserves.

A visible kintsugi-style restoration highlights an old rim crack while preserving the decorative appeal of the piece.

An attractive and decorative example of 18th century Qing export porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Peony and prunus motifs were popular decorative subjects during the Qianlong period, symbolizing prosperity, beauty, and renewal.

Marriage and auspicious symbols frequently appear on export porcelains intended for both domestic and overseas markets.
