DESCRIPTION
A finely decorated Chinese porcelain bowl featuring a bright turquoise exterior ground with famille rose style floral and bird motifs. The design includes chrysanthemums, bamboo sprays, and small birds beneath a repeating geometric key fret border. The interior is left plain white in contrast to the colorful exterior decoration. The underside bears a six character reign mark in iron red within the recessed foot. A charming decorative example of Canton style export porcelain.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Chinese famille rose porcelains remained highly popular into the 20th century, especially pieces inspired by earlier Qing dynasty export wares. Turquoise ground bowls with floral and bird motifs were produced for both domestic appreciation and export markets, combining vibrant enamels with traditional auspicious imagery.
