📜 Description
A charming early English pearlware cup, transfer-printed in cobalt blue with the iconic Willow / Pagoda pattern. The design depicts pagodas in a Chinese landscape with figures crossing a bridge, birds in flight above, and a garden setting. The glaze shows the soft bluish tint characteristic of early pearlware from the Staffordshire potteries. The cup’s body form and slightly raised foot rim are consistent with examples attributed to Mason Miles and contemporary Staffordshire workshops.

Collector’s Notes:
The Willow pattern was one of the most enduring designs in English ceramics, combining chinoiserie influence with romantic narrative scenes. This early example dates to the period when transfer printing was still being perfected, showing fine line work and glaze pooling typical of the era.
