📜 Description
A fine Chinese Wucai style porcelain Gu-shaped vase, decorated with vibrant flowers, birds, and scrolling foliage in overglaze enamels of red, green, blue, and yellow. The rim is inscribed with a six-character Da Ming Jiajing Nian Zhi mark in underglaze blue. Although bearing a Ming mark, this vase is of 20th century manufacture.
Collector’s Notes: Wucai wares, meaning “Five Colors,” were highly valued in the Ming dynasty for their lively decoration and symbolism. The floral and bird motifs symbolize harmony, prosperity, and the beauty of nature, making this a desirable piece for collectors of Chinese decorative arts.
