DESCRIPTION

Antique Chinese porcelain vase decorated in famille verte enamels with mounted warriors, attendants, and landscape scenes. The vase features an overall crackled glaze with dark molded chilong and foo lion mask handles applied around the neck and shoulder. The body displays animated figural scenes in green, iron red, and pink enamels against a cream ground. The underside bears an apocryphal Chenghua style mark. A decorative late Qing export piece with strong visual character.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese crackle glazed porcelain vases with applied relief decoration became popular during the Qing Dynasty for both domestic and export markets. Apocryphal Ming reign marks were commonly used on later decorative wares as a tribute to earlier imperial periods. Famille verte enamels remain highly collectible for their vivid palette and narrative figural scenes.
