DESCRIPTION

A finely carved Chinese hardwood display stand of oval form dating to the Qing period.

The stand features an openwork apron with archaic style motifs and raised platform center.

Supported on five short feet, it was designed to elevate and display a vase, bowl, or scholar’s object.

The dark patinated wood shows attractive age and character.

A useful and decorative stand for Chinese ceramics or other collectible objects.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese hardwood stands were often custom made to complement porcelain, jade, bronze, and scholar’s objects.
