CONDITION

GOOD (4/5) – Well carved and attractive overall. Lid appears to have an adhesive residue visible to the underside. Minor surface wear and natural inclusions consistent with age. Wooden stand with age-related wear. Please review the photos carefully for more details.

DESCRIPTION

Finely carved Chinese spinach jade double gourd vase with matching cover.

The vessel is decorated with openwork chilong dragons and trailing vine motifs wrapping around the body.

The stone displays attractive dark and bright green tones with natural mottling throughout.

Presented on a carved hardwood display stand and housed in a fitted presentation box.

A decorative and well-executed example of Qing style jade carving.

The double gourd, or hulu, is an important symbol in Chinese art associated with longevity, prosperity, and protection.
