DESCRIPTION

A decorative resin figure representing a female deity or Dakini in a Tibetan and Southeast Asian inspired style. The slender standing figure wears an elaborate tiered headdress, necklace, bracelets and a long pleated garment, with one arm dramatically raised above the head and the other held at the waist. She stands upon a recumbent goat supported by a lotus-form pedestal, all finished in an ivory-colored tone with darker detailing emphasizing the modeled decoration. The figure is presented on a contrasting black base decorated with stylized elephant heads, creating an unusual and visually striking devotional-style display piece.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Dakinis are female spiritual figures found particularly within Vajrayana Buddhist traditions and are represented in a wide variety of forms and poses. The precise identity of this figure remains uncertain, as the combination of a goat mount, raised-hand pose and Southeast Asian style costume does not provide enough conventional attributes for a definitive identification. It is therefore catalogued conservatively as a Dakini or female deity in a Tibetan and Southeast Asian inspired style.
