📜 Description
A beautiful and meaningful antique Chinese famille rose porcelain plate, dating to the Qianlong period (1736–1795). The central decoration shows four colorful fish swimming among aquatic plants, painted in vibrant enamels with rich iron-red, pink, blue, and green tones.

This is more than a decorative design — it is a traditional Chinese rebus representing the phrase “清白廉洁” (qingbai lianjie), which translates as “pure, unblemished, incorruptible, and clean”. Each fish in the design stands for a word in this four-character moral message, often associated with honest government officials and Confucian values.

Such designs were popular during the early Qing dynasty and were commonly used as gifts or decorations in a scholar’s studio or official’s residence, acting as a wish for integrity, purity, and upright character.

FAIR  – The plate has visible damage: staples to the surface, several cracks, and some surface wear. Despite this, the plate retains strong decorative and scholarly value, and still displays very well. Please review the photos carefully for more details.
