DESCRIPTION

A Chinese square-section porcelain vase decorated in the Famille Noire palette.
Each panel features finely painted auspicious objects, flower baskets and floral arrangements against a geometric diaper ground.
The shoulder and neck display additional decorative reserve panels with precious object motifs.
Rich green, black, pink and iron-red enamels create an attractive and highly decorative appearance.
An appealing display piece despite the noted restoration.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Famille Noire wares became highly prized for their striking dark grounds and vibrant overglaze enamels.
