📜 Description
A charming Chinese Porcelain snuff bottle modelled in the form of a recumbent Elephant. The body is finished in a mottled grey glaze with applied gilt scroll motifs and highlighted saddle cloth details in iron-red and gold tones. The animal’s features are simply and expressively rendered.

The base bears a red four-character Mark, likely apocryphal and decorative rather than period. Fitted with a gilt metal stopper.

Collector’s Notes: Elephant-form snuff bottles are popular among collectors due to the symbolic meaning of the elephant in Chinese culture, representing strength, wisdom, and good fortune. Zoomorphic bottles became especially popular in later production periods, and decorative reign Marks were commonly added to enhance aesthetic appeal.
