DESCRIPTION

Fine Chinese export porcelain saucer decorated in underglaze blue, iron red and gilt enamels in the Imari taste. The interior features a delicate waterside landscape with pagoda, rocky outcrops, flowering plants and a small boat. The rim is finished with a simple blue lattice border accented with iron red reserves. Elegant thinly potted porcelain with refined hand painted decoration typical of the Qianlong export period.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese Imari porcelain became highly desirable in Europe during the 18th century, blending Japanese inspired palettes with Chinese export artistry. Landscape scenes with architectural elements such as pagodas remain especially popular among collectors of Qing export wares.
