DESCRIPTION

Delicate Chinese porcelain saucer decorated in famille rose enamels with two ladies in a garden landscape beside a goat. One figure is seated on a rocky outcrop beneath a flowering tree while the other stands near a bridge carrying a basket. The rim is finished with a fine iron red scrolling border. Elegantly painted with soft enamel tones typical of the Qianlong period. A charming Qing export porcelain example.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Famille rose porcelain became highly popular during the Qianlong period for its expanded enamel palette and refined figural scenes. Small saucers of this type were often produced for the export market and decorated with idealized courtly or garden subjects. Pieces featuring figures and animals remain sought after by collectors of Qing porcelain.
