DESCRIPTION

Fine Chinese export porcelain saucer decorated in the Batavian palette with rich brown glazed ground. Reserved panels contain famille rose floral decoration and a peach motif associated with longevity symbolism. The center features an iron red scrolling design. Elegant shallow form with carefully finished rim typical of Qing export porcelain.

Batavian wares were produced for export during the Kangxi period and are admired for their distinctive brown glazed surfaces contrasted with colorful enamel reserves.
