DESCRIPTION

An 18th-century Chinese export porcelain saucer decorated in famille rose enamels with colourful floral sprays, including a prominent pink peony surrounded by smaller blossoms and green foliage. The interior features a delicate iron-red ornamental border and gilt rim. The white porcelain ground enhances the finely painted decoration. An attractive example of Qianlong period export porcelain retaining its original decorative character despite historical repairs.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Famille rose porcelain was widely produced for European export during the Qianlong period. Floral decoration and gilt borders were popular features of 18th-century Chinese export wares. The evidence of an earlier staple repair adds historical interest and reflects traditional ceramic restoration practices.
