DESCRIPTION

Chinese Yongzheng porcelain plate decorated in famille rose enamels with a ribbon-tied floral bouquet, shaded pink blooms, turquoise foliage and gilt leaves. The broad border features white blossoms, coloured branches and slender leaves against a finely painted scroll ground. A turquoise outline forms a shaped inner edge around the central decoration, while a narrow gilt line finishes the rim. The reverse is plain with an unmarked glazed base.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

The delicate shading of the pink enamels and detailed border reflect the refinement associated with Yongzheng porcelain. The old staple repairs also preserve evidence of a traditional method used to mend valued ceramics.
