DESCRIPTION

Chinese blue and white porcelain plate decorated with a tranquil riverside scene featuring geese beside water and architectural terrace railings.The design includes finely painted bamboo sprays, swastika fret panels, and lingzhi shaped ornamental motifs.Executed in cobalt blue underglaze with delicate line work characteristic of Kangxi period porcelain.The reverse remains plain with an unmarked base and neatly finished foot rim.An attractive decorative example of Qing period export porcelain despite restoration.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Landscape and garden scenes with birds and bamboo were popular decorative themes during the Kangxi era.Swastika fretwork and lingzhi motifs symbolized longevity and auspicious fortune in Chinese decorative arts.Collectors value these wares for their refined brush painting and elegant balance of open space and architectural detail.
