DESCRIPTION

An attractive Chinese export porcelain plate decorated in underglaze cobalt blue.The central scene depicts a riverside landscape with pagodas, bridges, boats, and trees in a traditional oriental manner.The border is richly ornamented with scrolling floral and diaper motifs.The plate has a slightly shaped rim and a soft pale blue glaze to the reverse.A genuine 18th century export example with strong decorative appeal.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese blue and white export porcelain from the Qianlong period was widely produced for the European market during the 18th century.Landscape scenes with pagodas and river settings remain highly collectible and display well in both traditional and modern interiors.Examples with honest age wear continue to be appreciated for their historical character.
