DESCRIPTION
A Chinese porcelain covered jar or chupu of rounded cylindrical form with a domed cover and raised circular knop. The white glazed body is hand decorated with flowering plants and foliage in turquoise, pink, green and iron red enamels. Both the vessel and cover carry iron red marks. The freely painted floral decoration and traditional form give the piece an attractive period character, representative of Chinese porcelain from the late Qing to early 20th century.
