📜 Description This rounded Porcelain Ginger Jar is decorated in vibrant Famille Verte enamels, featuring a lively figural scene of elegant court figures and Immortals beneath a spreading peach tree. The central figure holds a large peach, symbol of longevity and immortality in Chinese culture. Rich green, iron-red, yellow and aubergine tones are used throughout, characteristic of the Famille Verte palette.

The jar has a wide mouth and rounded shoulders with geometric band decoration around the neck and foot. The base is unmarked.

Collector’s Notes: During the Qing Dynasty, scenes of Daoist Immortals and peaches were popular motifs symbolising longevity, prosperity and auspicious blessings. Famille Verte wares remained highly appreciated into the 19th Century, especially for decorative household pieces such as ginger jars.
