📜 Description
A striking Chinese porcelain vase decorated in deep cobalt blue with white blossoming prunus branches over a cracked ice ground, a design popular during the Kangxi period (1662–1722) and revived in later Qing and Republic periods. The elegant baluster form with wide flaring mouth is complemented by the vibrant underglaze blue tones and textured background effect. The base bears a four-character mark in underglaze blue, likely apocryphal.

Decoration: Blue and white ‘cracked ice and prunus’ motif

Notes:The cracked ice and prunus pattern symbolizes purity and endurance, with the prunus blossom (梅花) blooming in late winter. These motifs were admired in both domestic and export markets. This example, though damaged, retains strong decorative appeal with its vibrant blue ground and classic silhouette.
