DESCRIPTION
A Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain ginger jar with fitted domed cover, dating to the 19th century. The jar is decorated in a bright famille jaune palette with large stylized flowers surrounded by dense green scrolling foliage against a rich yellow ground. Iron red, green and turquoise details provide strong contrast, while a repeating border encircles the lower body. The matching cover continues the floral scroll decoration, giving the jar a cohesive and highly decorative appearance.
