CONDITION

FAIR/RESTORED (2/5) – Hairline crack secured by an old metal staple repair. Small rim chips, fritting, and wear to the enamels and gilding consistent with age. Please review the photos carefully for more details.

DESCRIPTION

A Chinese export porcelain cup decorated in the Mandarin palette with finely painted figures in a garden or pavilion setting. The exterior features attendants and scholars rendered in vibrant enamels with delicate gilt accents.

The interior is decorated with an underglaze blue border beneath a scalloped rim, creating an attractive contrast with the famille rose decoration. The form and decoration are characteristic of Qianlong period export porcelain.

An appealing and authentic example of 18th century Chinese porcelain with a traditional period repair.
