DESCRIPTION

A finely painted Chinese porcelain dish decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The central field features stylized floral blossoms over a dense asper or seeded ground pattern. The cavetto and rim are divided into radiating panels with repeating floral sprays. The scalloped rim adds strong visual character typical of Kangxi period export porcelain. A decorative and authentic early Qing example with attractive hand painted detail.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Blue and white porcelain from the Kangxi period remains highly collected for its vibrant cobalt tones and confident brushwork. Asper ground decoration is associated with transitional and early Qing export wares. Pieces with strong decorative appeal continue to be appreciated despite condition issues due to their age and historical character.
