An exceptionally painted Chinese porcelain plate, dating to the Qianlong period (1736–1795), finely decorated in blue & white with a central composition of peony flowers surrounded by floral scrolls and auspicious emblems.

The peony is traditionally considered the most prestigious flower in China. It is symbolic for power, royalty, wealth, and high rank. The ancient town Luoyang 洛阳 was famous for rare and beautiful varieties of peonies. The nickname of peony in Chinese is called ‘fu gui hua 富贵花’, literally meaning the flower of wealth and prestige. 🔍 Condition

GOOD  – 2 x hairlines on the border with shallow chip (1CM), some light scratches and wear. Please review the photos carefully for more details.
