DESCRIPTION

Antique Chinese pale agate stone stopper from a miniature covered vase or similar vessel.
Carved in an elongated oval form with a polished translucent finish in soft cream tones.
The underside retains the original fitted insert for mounting into the vessel.
Offered as a replacement part or for restoration of a period Chinese object.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Stone stoppers were commonly used on fine Qing dynasty miniature vessels and decorative containers. Original antique examples are useful for restoration projects and are increasingly difficult to source, particularly in agate and other hardstones.
