DESCRIPTION
A modern Chinese stoneware bowl finished in a deep black Tenmoku style glaze. The interior is decorated with a striking natural tree leaf impression, preserving the delicate network of veins in contrasting blue, brown and pale tones. The restrained bowl form and dark glaze provide a dramatic background for the organic decoration. The underside has a small unglazed foot exposing the stoneware body. An attractive decorative ceramic combining traditional glaze inspiration with contemporary studio pottery character.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Leaf decorated Tenmoku style ceramics draw inspiration from historic East Asian dark glazed stoneware traditions. The use of a natural leaf motif creates an individual decorative pattern, making such bowls appealing examples of contemporary Asian studio ceramics.
