DESCRIPTION

A Chinese carved wood vase stand dating to the late Qing Dynasty. The stand is constructed with a circular recessed platform supported by three substantial carved legs arranged in tripod formation. Each leg has an elegant curving profile with stylized scroll details, creating a strong architectural silhouette. The dark brown surface displays warm areas of exposed wood and natural wear consistent with age and use. Designed to support a vase, jar or other decorative object within the recessed circular platform.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Carved hardwood stands were an important element in the traditional display of Chinese porcelain, bronzes and other scholar’s objects.
