DESCRIPTION
A Chinese hardwood vase stand of circular form dating to the Qing period.
The stand is raised on five elegantly curved legs terminating in scroll-form feet.
An openwork star-shaped stretcher strengthens the construction and adds visual interest.
The circular top features a recessed ring designed to securely support a small vase or vessel.
Rich dark patina and hand-finished surfaces enhance its traditional character.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Chinese display stands were crafted to complement and elevate ceramics, bronzes, and scholar’s objects.
Circular examples with multiple legs are particularly desirable for their balanced proportions and refined craftsmanship, making them attractive display pieces in their own right.
