DESCRIPTION
Chinese export porcelain saucer decorated in famille rose enamels from the Qianlong period. Fine thin porcelain body typical of 18th century export wares. An attractive example of Qing dynasty decorative porcelain.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
The butterfly and lily motif forms the auspicious rebus known as “Xuan Die Tu,” conveying wishes for longevity and long life. Such symbolic decorative themes were popular on Qing dynasty export porcelain and remain highly appreciated by collectors for their cultural meaning and refined enamel decoration.
