DESCRIPTION

An attractive vintage Bourne Denby English art pottery vase with a rounded body and substantial rolled rim. The surface is finished in softly mottled turquoise, blue and green tones with contrasting cream and earthy coloration. Stylized floral blooms and elongated foliage are worked around the body, giving the vase a distinctive decorative character. Horizontal bands around the neck and lower body complement the rounded form. The underside carries a handwritten Bourne Ware signature together with the BOURNE DENBY ENGLAND factory mark. A decorative example of collectible British pottery with appealing color and texture.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Bourne Denby pottery was produced in Derbyshire, England, and is widely collected for its durable stoneware forms and varied decorative glazes. Pieces bearing identifiable factory marks and distinctive hand-finished decoration are particularly appealing to collectors of 20th century British art pottery.
