DESCRIPTION

Japanese porcelain cover decorated on a pale celadon ground.
The exterior features alternating dragon and phoenix roundels surrounded by scrolling flames in iron red.
Gilt accents highlight details throughout the design, while a geometric border encircles the rim.
The interior is simply finished with a single phoenix medallion and gilt rim.
An attractive Meiji period Kutani ware cover displaying traditional auspicious motifs.
