DESCRIPTION

An elegant 18th century English Worcester porcelain bowl decorated with a striking radial pattern in rich cobalt blue, white, and gilt. Alternating blue and white vertical panels are divided by gilt lines, with the white sections embellished with graduated gilt dots and stylized arrow or leaf motifs. A narrow gilt foliate border decorates the interior beneath the rim, while the exterior pattern radiates upward from the foot to create a bold geometric effect. The underside retains a Mercury Antiques London label identifying the piece as Worcester and dating it circa 1780.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

The combination of deep cobalt blue grounds and gilded geometric ornament reflects the refined decorative taste found on later 18th century Worcester porcelain. The surviving Mercury Antiques London label provides useful earlier dealer attribution and provenance for the bowl.
