DESCRIPTION
English Delftware plate decorated in cobalt blue with a stylized floral chinoiserie landscape at the center. A decorative and authentic period pottery example with good visual appeal.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
English Delftware was heavily influenced by Dutch tin-glazed earthenware and imported Chinese porcelain during the 18th century. Blue and white floral plates remain popular among collectors for their folk-art character and hand-painted decoration. Examples showing honest wear are often appreciated for their originality and age.
