Decorated with gilt banding to the rim and inner well, this simple yet sophisticated design reflects Regency taste for restrained luxury. The pure white porcelain body and fine gilding demonstrate the technical excellence for which Spode became famous.

Collector’s Notes: This saucer is from Pattern 2/398, part of Spode’s extensive gilt line range. Such minimalist gilded designs were popular around 1805–1815, complementing lavishly decorated services and fine tableware. The hand-painted number to the base identifies the specific pattern in the Spode factory ledgers.
