Early English Delftware plate decorated in underglaze Blue & White with a central floral composition, featuring a large stylized blossom emerging from a garden fence. The wide rim is painted with repeating floral motifs in deep cobalt blue.
Collectorβs Notes: English tin-glazed earthenware plates of the early 18th century were inspired by Chinese export porcelain yet retain distinctive English character in their painterly execution. Such plates are highly sought after as early examples of British ceramic production preceding widespread porcelain manufacture. π Condition
