This antique Chinese porcelain plate is decorated in the soft pastel palette of Famille Rose, dating to the
Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The centre shows a finely painted pink Peony blossom with
companion flowers .

Collector’s Notes:
Plates from the Qianlong era with delicate single-flower Peony sprays are classic export wares and are
much appreciated for their understated decoration and quality enamelling. Examples showing historic
staple restoration are often valued for the insight they give into early conservation techniques.
