Ⓜ️ Material Porcelain
🏳️ Origin China
🏛️ Period Qianlong – 18th Century
🅂 Subject Mandarin figures: elegant ladies with a boy, plus rare vignette details including a small dog and decorative vessels; gilt cartouches with floral and bamboo reserves
🏷️ Marked Unmarked (old paper collection label associated with the Bailward family collection)

📜 Description Chinese Porcelain handled tea cup decorated in fine Famille Rose enamels, featuring a charming Mandarin scene with ladies and a boy, complemented by decorative objects and a small dog motif—an appealing and less common variation within this pattern group. The exterior is framed by iron-red borders and shaped panels, enriched with soft gilded ground and roundels showing floral and bamboo reserves. The handle is finished in warm gilt tones, giving the cup a refined, courtly appearance typical of Qianlong export wares.

From the same group as the other pieces you provided, this cup is associated with the Bailward family collection through an old base label (see photos).

Collector’s Notes: The Qianlong period is celebrated for the peak of Famille Rose enamel painting and the popularity of figural “Mandarin” subjects made for export and domestic taste. Collectors value lively narrative scenes, crisp line work, and the combination of enamels with gilded borders—especially when a rarer vignette (such as a boy and dog) adds character and scarcity.

🔍 Condition GOOD ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) – Light age-related wear with minor gilt rubbing and small firing specks/imperfections visible. Minor chipping around the edges. Please review the photos carefully for more details.
