The exterior is decorated with rich cobalt-blue underglaze floral forms combined with overglaze enamels in pink, turquoise and iron-red, creating a beautiful Famille Rose and Doucai composition of flowering branches and large Peony blossoms. Subtle gilt highlights enhance the floral decoration and the rim carries a delicate floral border.

Collector’s Notes: The Peony, often called the “King of Flowers,” symbolizes prosperity, honor and wealth in Chinese culture. During the Qianlong reign (1736–1795), porcelain production reached exceptional artistic refinement. The combination of Doucai outlines with overglaze Famille Rose enamels reflects the sophisticated decorative techniques favored in imperial kilns of the Qing Dynasty.
