CONDITION

GOOD (4/5) – Fainted hairline to the rim 2cm, light wear and handling marks, some rubbing to the gilt rim, minor glaze imperfections and surface wear. Please review the photos carefully for more details.

DESCRIPTION

Delicate Chinese porcelain wine cup or small beaker with flared rim and thin potted body.

Decorated in famille rose enamels in the Qianjiang manner with a graceful lady standing beside a flowering tree.

The reverse bears a line of calligraphy executed in dark enamel.

Soft pastel tones and refined brushwork create an elegant scholarly garden scene.

A charming example of early 20th century Chinese export or domestic decorative porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Qianjiang style porcelain became popular in the late Qing period and continued into the Republic era.
