CONDITION

RESTORED/FAIR (2/5) – Hairline crack glued extending through the body from the rim to the foot. Rim wear, rubbing to gilding and enamels, and general age-related wear. Please review the photos carefully for more details.

DESCRIPTION

An attractive Chinese porcelain tea stand dating to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.

The center is decorated with a delicate famille rose scene featuring a bird among flowering branches.

The shaped border is richly ornamented with puce diaper panels, floral garlands, and gilt rococo-inspired cartouches.

Finely painted enamels and elegant form reflect the quality of mid-18th century export porcelain.

A decorative and collectible example of Qianlong famille rose ware.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Tea stands were produced as part of Chinese export tea services made for European markets during the 18th century.

Qianlong period famille rose porcelains are admired for their vibrant palette, detailed decoration, and refined craftsmanship.
