📜 Description
A decorative Chinese Porcelain snuff bottle of flattened form with rounded shoulders and short neck, featuring a gilt metal cover. The body is decorated in Famille Rose enamels with a finely painted court Lady standing amongst red blossoms. The sides show landscape panels, and the exterior is finished in a moulded faux bois (wood-grain) effect.

The base bears a blue four-character Mark, likely apocryphal and decorative in nature. Complete with stopper.

Collector’s Notes: Chinese snuff bottles became highly collectible during the Qing period and continued in production into the 20th Century. The faux bois style imitates natural wood, a popular aesthetic in later decorative wares. Famille Rose enamels are valued for their soft palette and detailed figure painting, making figural examples such as this especially appealing to collectors.
