DESCRIPTION
Chinese porcelain plate decorated with flowering sprays in rich puce and pink enamels, accented with purple and gilt details. A large floral arrangement fills the centre, accompanied by smaller scattered blossoms and curling leaves. The broad rim carries further floral sprigs within a fine double-line border. Shaded petals and delicate gilt outlines lend depth to the decoration, while the reverse is plain glazed with a raised circular foot.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
The restricted puce palette gives the floral painting a harmonious appearance, with variations in tone defining the petals and foliage. Gilt accents provide a subtle contrast, offering decorative interest despite the plate’s extensive condition issues.
