DESCRIPTION

A Chinese export porcelain plate decorated in the Famille Rose palette from the Qianlong period. The central design features a flowering peony beside bamboo and a blue scholar’s rock, framed by a finely gilt border. The wide rim is decorated with delicate floral sprays in bright enamel colors. The pale celadon-tinted glaze and elegant composition are characteristic of 18th century Chinese export wares.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Qianlong period Famille Rose porcelain is highly regarded for its refined enamel decoration and was produced both for the domestic market and for export. Even restored examples remain desirable as decorative pieces and as representative examples of Qing Dynasty porcelain craftsmanship.
