DESCRIPTION

An elegant Chinese porcelain plate decorated in the famille rose palette of the Yongzheng period.

The center features flowering sprays and auspicious scholar’s objects including a brush pot and symbolic items associated with learning and refinement.

The border is richly decorated with iron-red scrollwork, floral motifs, blue reserves, and black-ground gilt detailing.

The finely painted enamels and balanced composition reflect the sophisticated taste of early Qing porcelain production.
